Sens technique
Action to modify the morphology of a watercourse to make it straight and force its flow (correction, training, cleaning), to control local flood or promote uses such as boating or water-based recreational activities. The ecological consequences of channelization are often significant and irreversible (reduction in the diversity of physical conditions and therefore of aquatic populations).
